The ancestors of numerous indigenous tribes created thousands of mounds and associated earthworks throughout the landscape of what is now Alabama and the southeastern United States. Indigenous mound sites are very important to these tribes, and modern indigenous perspectives of their significance, meaning, and preservation represent an opportunity for all of us to understand and better appreciate how special these places are to indigenous cultures. The videos on this page were produced by the tribes themselves and generously provided to be featured on this website.
